Position SummaryThe Assistant Store Director supports the Store Director in leading all aspects of store operations, driving sales performance, delivering exceptional customer service, and developing a high-performing team. This role ensures daily execution of company standards while fostering a culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities Store Operations & ExecutionSupport overall store operations, ensuring departments are fully staffed, merchandised, and compliant with company standardsOversee daily opening, closing, and operational proceduresEnsure execution of merchandising plans, promotional displays, and seasonal programsMonitor inventory levels, shrink, and out-of-stocks to maintain optimal product availabilityCustomer ExperienceChampion a customer-first culture across all departmentsResolve customer concerns quickly and professionallyEnsure cleanliness, organization, and an inviting shopping environmentTeam Leadership & DevelopmentAssist in hiring, training, and developing department leaders and associatesProvide coaching, feedback, and performance management to drive resultsPromote engagement, accountability, and teamwork across the storeSupport leadership succession planning and talent developmentFinancial PerformancePartner with Store Director to achieve sales, labor, and profitability goalsMonitor key metrics including sales, margin, shrink, and labor efficiencyIdentify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costsSafety & ComplianceEnforce all safety programs and ensure compliance with company policiesMaintain adherence to food safety and sanitation standardsEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferredPrevious retail leadership experience required (grocery preferred)Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentFlexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbsFrequent movement throughout all areas of the storeKey CompetenciesLeadership & Team DevelopmentOperational ExcellenceCustomer FocusFinancial AcumenProblem Solving & Decision Making
