Grid Code EngineerHouston, TX (hybrid, 3 days per week onsite) | $145,000 to $165,000 per yearA global renewable energy business delivering grid integration and plant control solutions for wind power projects across the US and Canada is seeking an experienced Grid Code Engineer. This role supports electrical engineering activities across the sales, construction, and service stages of wind power projects, combining grid code compliance, technical sales support, electrical pre-design, plant control engineering, and commissioning support.ScheduleHybrid, 3 days per week in the Houston, TX office.Compensation$145,000 to $165,000 per year, plus 401(k), a 10% annual bonus, and a full benefits package.What You'll DoThe Grid Code Engineer will review customer contracts, Balance of Plant documentation, and utility interconnection requirements to identify technical risks and tender deviations, while preparing standard contract templates, formal customer responses, and technical presentations. This role supports Technical Bid Engineers with value engineering and site-specific solutions, reviews customer electrical studies to recommend compliance and performance improvements, and promotes standardized electrical solutions across sales teams. The engineer will monitor and communicate emerging grid codes and market requirements, support global product teams in developing new functionality, and engage with System Operators on model use and system integration. Representing the business in grid code working groups and industry forums is a core part of the role, along with reviewing North American wind power plant designs for grid code compliance and leading engineering pre-design studies. The role also includes preparing Functional Design Specifications for Power Plant Controllers and yaw power backup systems, developing grid compliance test plans, supporting testing and commissioning, preparing site-specific turbine and controller settings, and mentoring other engineers.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, focused on power or control systems At least 7 years of experience in electrical power, power systems, or control systems engineering Strong experience solving complex power and control system problems Knowledge of grid integration, utility interconnection requirements, and wind power plant controls Ability to interpret grid codes and assess plant designs and electrical studies for compliance and optimization Knowledge of NERC reliability standards and international standards including IEC, IEEE, and UL Strong customer facing, presentation, and technical communication skills Strong Microsoft Office skills Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering or Professional Engineer (PE) license Wind turbine or wind power plant implementation, operation, system standards, or service experience Exposure to PSCAD, TSAT, E-TRAN, or PSS/E Familiarity with CAD tools, SAP, and related engineering software Experience working across cultures, functions, and time zones within a global organization Compensation And BenefitsBase salary of $145,000 to $165,000 per year 401(k) 10% annual bonus Extensive benefits package To apply, submit your resume for consideration.
