Filtertek manufactures molded filtration and flow control components. Coeur is a leading provider of disposable diagnostic imaging consumables.The Operations Manager will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the responsible plant location (Washington, North Carolina) to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operation. The position is based physically onsite in the plant and reports to the Global Operations Director.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Actively analyze key performance indicators for operation and adjust/implement lean manufacturing and quality processes and systems leveraging ITW Toolbox PLS, 80/20, etc., and related world class manufacturing improvement techniques to achieve operational excellence and optimal P&L improvementDirects operational strategies to continuously deliver exceptional customer serviceDrives improvements in customer-facing metrics (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and delivers best-in-class operations around production efficiency and safety. Driving continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.Champions the ITW Leadership Development framework, developing talent within the location. Identifies and develops key leaders for future roles.Manage direct reports to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness.Provide visible leadership on the production floor to maintain accountability, morale, and a professional work environment.Support new product development and modifications with engineering support for design, process, and validation functionsLead, develop, and implement policies and procedures that support and drive annual plan and LRPProactively direct the resolution of operational, quality, and maintenance issues to ensure effective management of cost and prevention of operational delaysActively analyze productivity and capacity utilization, including outside processingEnsure that specified standards of production output and quality are maintained consistent with established production schedulesExercise all elements of supervision directly and on a delegated basis in selection and orientation of new employees, assigning duties and responsibilities, evaluating performance, recommending personnel actions, and maintaining a high degree of morale and effectiveness within the work force reporting to him/herRecommends, through Capital Expenditure process, the purchase of new equipment after compiling justification data. Reviews various types of equipment with qualifying characteristics, appraises their capabilities, and recommends to the Operations Director purchase of selected equipmentReviews recommendations to modify, replace or scrap molds, machines, and special tooling which are causing production problems and completes appropriate approval processes to complete as requiredConsults with Manufacturing, Sales, Pricing, and Project Engineering team members to review and resolve any problems relating to quality, cost, or major orders of a sensitive natureAttends scheduled production and quality meetings to review operations and discuss quality problems. Reviews complaints involving products manufactured and takes necessary steps to make correctionsPrepares a Production operating budget for review, approval, and inclusion by the Director of Operations in a consolidated divisional budget. Conducts activities of the department to maintain conformance to budgetary limitations and reviews monthly variance statements with the Division Controller to identify areas for improvement. Reviews long range plan of the division and directs the department activities to achieve these objectivesKeeps up to date on new developments, processes, material applications, and equipment within the plastics and assemblies fieldsResolves personnel problems in conjunction with appropriate supervisor and Human Resources and takes action in accordance with established policies and proceduresOther tasks and duties as assignedPosition Skills and Experience Requirements:Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree - B. A./B.S. from four-year College or University in Business/Engineering or Technical Concentration or equivalent ITW experience; Master's Degree a plusMinimum 5 years of management experience in leading large growing lean manufacturing operationsInjection molding experience a plusMedical industry experience a plusAbility to develop performance levels to meet operational excellenceExcellent time management, prioritization abilities, and strong project management skillsAbility to develop and implement strategiesStrong business analytical skills, with 80/20 mindsetStrong financial acumen including working knowledge of budgeting, sales, and business developmentExceptional track record of developing and implementing operational plans to improve efficiencyAbility to manage complexity and changeDemonstrated ability to make tough business and leadership decisionsExcellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with experience in communicating and working with a remote staffAbility to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team-oriented environmentPersonally driven and motivates others to excelAbility to identify and develop future leaders/managersWilling to travel; primarily domestic and occasionally world-wideCompensation Information:This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, market level, other job-related factors, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
