Procurement Specialist: Packaging, Labeling & 3rd Party Purchased Finished GoodsWe are seeking a proactive and hands-on Procurement Specialist to manage sourcing, purchasing, and supplier performance for packaging, labeling, and 3rd party purchased finished goods. The packaging & label categories have approximately $8 million in annual expenditures. This role owns the end-to-end procurement process—from packaging sourcing strategy and supplier management through purchase order placement, order tracking, and ensuring on-time delivery to support operations. This role also supports the OHP business segment in procuring 3rd Party Finished Goods from our supply partners.The ideal candidate is comfortable working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams and brings a practical, execution-focused mindset to a manufacturing environment.AMVAC, an American Vanguard company, successfully serves global markets through development, manufacturing and marketing of products for agricultural and commercial use. This position is located at our Axis, AL chemical manufacturing plant and reports to the Director of Procurement.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute sourcing strategies for packaging and labeling with a focus on cost, service, risk mitigation, and supply continuityResponsible for Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) procurement processes of Finished GoodsLead RFx events, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and manage supplier agreements as requiredResponsible for purchase order placement, tracking of open purchase orders, and proactively manage suppliers to ensure on-time deliveryResolve delivery issues, shortages, and discrepancies in coordination with suppliers and internal teamsManage supplier performance across cost, quality, and service, and drive supplier corrective actions where neededLead supplier qualification and approval for new and alternate suppliers, and support packaging, labeling, and specification changesPartner with Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, and Supply Chain on new product launches, packaging changes, and supply initiativesManage and develop one direct report that is responsible for supporting packaging procurement activitiesMaintain accurate pricing, lead times, and supplier data in the ERP and sourcing systemsSkills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)6+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, preferably in packaging, labeling, or finished goodsExperience with PO placement, order tracking, and supplier management in a manufacturing or operations environmentFamiliarity with supplier qualification, specifications, and quality & regulatory considerationsStrong commercial, analytical, and stakeholder management skillsProficiency with ERP systems and sourcing platformsMicrosoft Word; Excel; TeamsExcellent written and verbal communications skillsMust pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background checkWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
