No matter where you are or how you express yourself, it’s always the fastest way to share a moment!We’re looking for a Camera Systems Engineer to join the Spectacles team at Snap Inc!What you’ll do:Lead a cross-functional sensing project including hardware and software development, new use-case prototyping, user studies, and performance verification. Develop next-generation camera hardware based on user research and product integration requirements including sensor selection and developing lens requirements. Define and document camera subcomponent and module engineering requirementsDefine testing and qualification plans for the components and camera module at different stages of development from concept to productionDevelop product-level test procedures in support of product use casesCollaborate with camera firmware and software engineers to develop testing and calibration solutionsDrive DFM with suppliers and manage technical and commercial risk through designSupport failure analysis and reliability testing and integrate corrective actions into future designs and process improvementsReview process plans and propose and drive DOEs when necessaryEvaluate and debug camera hardware at module and product levels with supporting simulationTravel to supplier facilities for product development and production bring-up (up to 15% international travel expected)Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of standard miniature camera module assembly processes, including wafer-level opticsKnowledge of the image signal processing pipelineFamiliarity with common applications of computer vision and computational imagingExperience with eye tracking systemsExpertise in at least one of the following: mechanical design of injection-molded components, electrical design of high-speed circuits, design and fabrication of plastic optics, or consumer electronics process developmentAbility to work independently and manage internal and external resourcesMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in optical engineering, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field3+ years of experience in designing, testing, or development of high-volume camera modulesPreferred Qualifications:PhD or MS degree in optical engineering, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fieldExpertise in near-infrared illumination systems and sensorsExperience leading complex cross-functional technical projects without predefined requirementsExperience with compact camera image sensors, lenses, manufacturing, testing, and working with component and module suppliersIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information."Default Together" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):The base salary range for this position is $190,000-$284,000 annually.Zone B:The base salary range for this position is $181,000-$270,000 annually.Zone C:The base salary range for this position is $162,000-$241,000 annually.This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
