eLearning Technologist
Pay Grade: Technician 6This position provides training, technology solutions, and offers ongoing support to faculty across all teaching modalities on effectively using the college’s learning management system (LMS) and other educational technology tools. In addition, the role provides helpdesk support to students for the LMS and related educational technologies, ensuring a smooth and accessible learning experience for all users., To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.Provides LMS training; accessibility workshops, and workshops on other eLearning technology related topics to include tools such as but not limited to: Softchalk, Snagit, YuJa, and H5PProvides training and support to colleges’ web conferencing toolsProvides LMS helpdesk support in various modalities for faculty and studentsAssists in managing content in the Academic Tech Toolkit departmental siteMonitors developments in emerging technologies and makes recommendations for potential implementation, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)Proficient in supporting LMS platforms in an academic support environmentExcellent communication, technological, project management, organizational, and time management skillsSkill in effectively communicating complex technical matters related to disabilities both verbally and in writingUnderstanding of WCAG standards and how individuals with disabilities access the Web and digital contentAbility to facilitate professional development in various formats including face-to-face, synchronous webinars, or asynchronous coursesAbility to work efficiently under time constraints; ability to multi-task and/prioritizeAbility to work comfortably with diverse populations and with people from all areas and levels of the CollegeAbility to work occasional evening hoursRequirementsBachelor's degree in a technology related field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceOne year of technology/helpdesk support in a higher education environmentOne year of experience delivering technology related training and/or professional development.PreferencesBachelor's degree in a technology, education, or instructional technology related fieldTwo years of online training or online teaching experience
