Risk & Compliance Manager

Salary Range:$158k-$162k (varies, depending on years of experience) About the Opportunity We’re partnering with a well-established, mission-driven organization that supports a large, union-based workforce through comprehensive benefits programs, retirement planning, and administrative services. This team is known for its stability, collaborative culture, and long-term employee retention. They are seeking aRisk & Compliance Managerto play a key role in safeguarding operations, strengthening internal controls, and supporting benefits-related compliance across programs such as 401(k), HRA, and COBRA. What You’ll Do Evaluate organizational exposure across financial, operational, compliance, and reputational risk areas Partner closely with leadership (including the Director of Administration) to support strategic decision-making Oversee compliance related to employee benefits programs (COBRA, HRA, retirement plans, 401k) Build and maintain risk frameworks, policies, and internal controls aligned with industry best practices (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000) Conduct audits, analyze trends, and monitor emerging risks or regulatory changes Collaborate with departments like HR, Finance, and Legal to embed risk awareness into daily operations Investigate potential issues, including fraud or process gaps, and recommend practical solutions Prepare and present clear, actionable reports to leadership and stakeholders Maintain documentation including risk registers and compliance tracking tools What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree required (Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field preferred) 5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or benefits administration Strong knowledge of COBRA, HRA, 401(k), and retirement benefits compliance Background in HR, benefits, finance, or legal/compliance environments Experience working with regulatory frameworks and internal audits Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders Strong collaboration skills and comfort working across departments Work Environment & Perks 100% onsite role (Monday–Friday, standard business hours) Stable, team-oriented environment with strong leadership support Emphasis on work-life balance and employee well-being Reserved parking provided Why Apply?
