Senior Java DeveloperPrimary Skills: Java Development (Expert), Spring Boot / Spring Framework (Expert), Microservices Architecture (Expert), Relational Database Design & Optimization (Advanced), REST API & Backend Development (Expert)Contract Type: W2 Only Duration: 7+ Months Location: Pleasanton, CA – Onsite 5 Days/Week Pay Range: $80 - $85 on W2Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer with 10+ years of hands-on development experience and strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and relational databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail environments and experience designing scalable, high-performance backend applications. This role will also contribute to architecture, technical best practices, code reviews, mentoring, production support, and CI/CD improvements.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.Architect and implement microservices-based solutions and contribute to system architecture and technical roadmap decisions.Design and optimize database schemas, SQL queries, stored procedures, indexing, and overall database performance.Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate backend services with cross-functional applications and code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level developers, and promote clean code, design patterns, SOLID principles, and engineering best practices.Troubleshoot complex production issues and contribute to CI/CD, DevOps, security, scalability, and reliability improvements.Must-Have Skills:10+ years of professional Java development experience with strong hands-on expertise.Expert-level Spring Boot / Spring Framework experience, including Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.Proven experience designing and developing microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.Strong experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, including schema design and query industry experience with strong enterprise application development experience.Nice-to-Have Skills:Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra.Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging/event-driven technologies.Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.Experience with application monitoring and performance tools such as New Relic, Datadog, or Splunk.Preferred Qualifications:Strong experience with Hibernate/JPA, Maven/Gradle, Git, JUnit, and Mockito, including TDD practices.Knowledge of event-driven architecture, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and cloud-native application development.Prior technical leadership, mentoring, architecture, or design ownership experience.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
