Spring Branch Independent School DistrictJob DescriptionTeacher Development Lead - MathJob Title:Teacher Development Lead - MathReports To:Director of MathClassification:ProfessionalWage/Hour Status:ExemptDays:223Salary:See Compensation Plan for Administrative/Professional Pay Plan, Pay Grade 104Contract:Probationary/TermDate Revised:2/7/2024Primary Purpose:Provide teacher support through curriculum resources, instructional coaching, and professional learning (for teachers and leaders)Qualifications/Skills:Education/CertificationBachelor's degree in related fieldValid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for positionCertification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State lawSpecial Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge and experience in instructional coachingStrong content knowledge in mathKnowledge of best practices for math instruction for diverse learnersAbility to effectively engage adult learners in professional learningUnderstanding of the needs of various groups of students such as Emergent Bilingual, Gifted/Talented, 504, Special Education, and students at riskEstablish and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with othersComprehensive knowledge of instructional strategies, the role of PLCs, intervention and enrichment, and student assessmentKnowledge and comfort with the use of technology in the classroomExperienceMinimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experienceMinimum of two (2) years instructional leadership experience requiredMajor Duties andResponsibilitiesDuties:Collect and analyze data in order to lead data meetings and to inform instructional decisionsFoster collegiality and team building among appropriate personnel, encouraging active involvement in decision-makingDevelop and revise curriculum documents as neededActively participate in professional development in areas related to job responsibilitiesModel district standards of ethics, core values, confidentiality and professionalismProvide leadership in improving the instructional program in the schoolsPositively collaborate with school leaders to design and support programs on campusesPlan lessons with teachersSupport teachers in documenting student progress.Develop and deliver district-wide professional learningCommunicate district curriculum, instructional practices, district accomplishments, and goals to all stakeholdersCultivate partnerships with local, state, and national leaders in the field (including business and community representatives, institutions of higher education, etc.) to ensure the continued growth of the departmentProject a positive image to the community OtherPerform other duties as assigned.SupervisoryResponsibilities:NoneEquipment Used:Computer and various office equipment.Working Conditions:Mental DemandsMaintain emotional control under stress.Work with frequent interruptions.This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.Physical DemandsFrequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing.Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks and other classroom equipment.Repetitive hand motions.Application Procedure:Click Apply then Login.
