We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Store Director to lead our team at Discovery Place, where guests of all ages are inspired by the wonders of the natural world.About The RoleAs the Store Director at Discovery Place, you’ll be the driving force behind the retail operations at one of Charlotte’s must-see destinations. You will lead a high-performing and diverse team of Assistant Store Directors, Sales Leads, and team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Your leadership will ensure that our store not only meets but exceeds sales goals while fostering an environment that embodies our company’s core values. Key Responsibilities Lead with Passion: Oversee all aspects of retail store management, ensuring smooth operations and a positive, engaging atmosphere for both guests and team members. Drive Sales: Identify innovative strategies to boost sales and achieve targets. Ensure the store is stocked with the right products and communicate inventory needs to corporate. Financial Management: Manage payroll and controllable profit within set guidelines to meet financial objectives. Build Relationships: Cultivate strong, lasting partnerships with venue stakeholders to enhance collaboration and long-term success. Strategic Execution: Work closely with the VP of Store Quality to prioritize and execute both immediate and long-term business goals. Team Development: Recruit, train, and develop a talented team, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment that encourages growth and excellence. Guest Experience: Ensure that every guest receives outstanding service, leaving the store with a memorable experience. What You Bring Experience: 5+ years in retail management, with a strong sales background and merchandising expertise. Leadership: A proven ability to inspire, lead, and develop a team, creating a positive work environment that drives performance. Entrepreneurial Spirit: A creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and driving results. Flexibility: Availability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the business.
