These medical records must be in compliance with current state and federal laws, regulations, survey guidelines and professional standards of practice.Duties & Responsibilities:Gathers patient demographic and personal information Issues medical files to persons and agencies according to laws and regulationsReviews and completes medical record request reviewsAssists with departmental audits and investigationsDistributes medical charts to the appropriate departmentsMaintains quality and accurate medical records by following clinic proceduresEnsures patient charts, paperwork and reports are completed in an accurate and timely mannerEnsures all medical records are protected and kept confidentialFiles all patient medical records and informationSupplies departments with the appropriate documents and formsCompletes clerical duties including answering phones, responding to emails, and processing patient recordsRequired Skills/Abilities: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills via phone or in-person Strong time management and organizational skills Ability to efficiently multi-task and prioritize work Ability to maintain and uphold confidentiality as required Ability to effectively operate and navigate a computer and computer software Ability to exert physical effort maintaining and distributing filesEducation and Experience: GED or High School Diploma required Minimum 1-year experience in a similar role Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and administration processes Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred HIPPA & OSHA Compliance Certification preferred
