Overview Must have License through AZ Dept. of Health before applying We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to support our speech therapy team in delivering high-quality care to diverse populations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in pediatric and school-based settings, with a passion for helping children improve their communication skills. Duties Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in conducting speech and language assessments, therapy sessions, and progress evaluations. Implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's needs, following established protocols and goals. Support children with communication challenges related to pediatrics, early intervention, or school-based programs by engaging them in therapeutic activities. Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with organizational standards. Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive support for students' communication development. Prepare therapy materials and assist in setting up treatment environments that are engaging and conducive to learning. Monitor student responses during sessions, providing feedback to the supervising clinician to optimize therapy effectiveness. Adhere to all safety guidelines within clinical or educational settings, ensuring a secure environment for children and staff. Requirements Prior experience working with children in pediatric or school settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, physiology related to speech production, and anatomy relevant to communication disorders. Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of how physiological factors influence speech and language development. Experience working with students requiring early intervention services or participating in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining detailed records. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children, families, educators, and healthcare providers. A completed degree or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or equivalent credential is required.
