Projects include print collateral, website, and social media graphics and will perform other prepress activities as needed. The incumbent will be well-versed in brand standards and will adhere to the FBISD branding guidelines. The incumbent will develop interactive design templates for the Print Shop. The Visual Communications Specialist will process submitted Print Shop jobs and complete design work where applicable.Position DescriptionEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBrand AwarenessProvide instruction to print shop users from campuses and departments about compliance with proper use of brand standards throughout all advertising, promotions, internal publications, marketing, social media presence, print shop, and any other environment where the brand appears MarketingParticipate in brand strategy discussions and collaborate with the creative team to ensure strategic objectives are metAssist with graphic direction to ensure brand integrity on all applicable print jobsOrganize and coordinate many tasks under pressureEnterprise Funds/Print Shop/AdvertisingAssist in planning, development, and marketing efforts for the Print Shop which involve conceptualizing and implementing design templates and print collateral to market Enterprise Funds Print Shop and Advertising PlanCollaborate with the Print Shop Coordinator and members of the Enterprise Funds Leadership Team on graphic design for internal and external presentationsCreate products and templates for the Print Shop ordering systemProvide employees with interpretations of specifications and job ordersCommunicate with the Print Shop Coordinator on activities of respective departments or areasCoordinate and maintain overall quality levels and on-time delivery schedulesAssist District staff and community customers using the Print Shop ordering system Graphics Department for Print ShopCollaborate with external and internal marketing partners such as vendors, production companies, printers, copywriters and internal team membersBuild and maintain strong relationship management skills with customers, vendors and employeesDemonstrate initiative with the ability to seek out relevant information prior to making timely decisionsCollaborate with internal and external customers on their design needs for web, digital, and print collateralMonitor quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all jobs to ensure customer commitments are met through productionAudio VisualProvide technical guidance to Enterprise Funds programs regarding A/V capabilities and best practicesTrain and mentor staff, interns, or temporary A/V support personnelAdvise leadership on emerging A/V technologies and industry trendsQualification RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentials functions.High School diploma or GED Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design preferred Minimum of 5 years In Graphic Design in both, print materials and digital formats including Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe InDesign tables, character and paragraph style sheets, Spot and CMYK color workflows, and variable data and postal regulations Minimum of 2 years in offset print or digital print production or equivalent Submission of online or print portfolio required to be considered for position Proficiency in multiple visual programs including; Adobe Creative Suite - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Premiere, Quark Xpress, Microsoft Office, Imovie or other video and audio editing programs as well as Prepress and print related software.Detail-oriented, thorough, and accurate in a fast-paced environment; able to multi-task, follow up, and keep projects on scheduleProficiency with PC operation including Word, Excel spreadsheets and databasesDemonstrated knowledge of Print Shop Pro or similar print-related software, including an automated workflow system preferredDemonstrated knowledge of Pre-Press, Imposition for print preferredExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and conflicting demandsExcellent communication skills, both orally and in writingAbility to display courtesy, tact and respect when dealing with others and ability to maintain confidentialityAbility to work effectively, both independently and within a team environmentPhysical Requirements/Working ConditionsThe work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
