Medical Director - Bayview Medical Center - #Faculty
The Burn Center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a burn surgeon to serve as Medical Director. Located in Baltimore, MD, the burn center is ABA-verified, Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services System (MIEMSS)-designated and the only adult burn center in the state of Maryland. The Medical Director will hold a faculty appointment at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across the full continuum of burn care. This includes acute resuscitation, operative management, critical care management, rehabilitation, and outpatient follow-up. In partnership with interdisciplinary teams and hospital leadership, the Medical Director will lead quality improvement efforts and advance the center's research and education programs. The role also includes supporting trainee development and promoting burn prevention, advocacy, and community outreach at the local, regional, and national levels.
Qualifications
Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Board Certification in General Surgery (American Board of Surgery) or Plastic Surgery (American Board of Plastic Surgery).
Valid, unrestricted medical license in the state of Maryland.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited burn fellowship or a minimum of two years of burn care experience within the past five years.
Completion of Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) provider or equivalent.
Completion of Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) instructor within two years of hire.
Demonstrated experience in the care of at least 50 acutely burned patients annually over a three-year period.
Active participation in burn-related CME, community education, prevention efforts, and research.
Proven track record in directing burn related research, leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex clinical operations.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Salary: $400,000 - $600,000.
