Level 2 Mechanical Inspector

Our associates are expert quality assurance professionals with broad experience and local knowledge who can represent our clients on-demand and on-site faster than our competitors.We're actively seeking a Quality Mechanical Inspector for an immediate opening in Miami, FL. This is an up to 6-month contract position with potential for extension. The role is full-time on second shift (3pm- 11:30pm), Monday through Friday. We are looking for associates with strong precision hand tool experience and the willingness to learn AS13001 standards.Key Responsibilities:Conduct visual, physical, and dimensional inspections (both in-process and final) of machined parts, per project specifications and requirementsPerform incoming inspections from external providers of products and servicesConduct in-process and final inspections of critical features, including witness inspectionsCompile final inspection sign-off sheets and inspection packagesVerify that inspection equipment is capable of detecting defects and ensure inspection methodology is in line with drawing intentReview and validate the justification for parts not inspected at final inspectionAudit and validate the execution of inspection plans as applicableDocument non-conformances using approved methods and submit non-conformance reports for customer dispositionWork within the Quality Management system and undergo basic training on policies and proceduresDocument inspection results in our record retention systemQualifications:Previous mechanical inspection experienceExperience with AS9102 (FAI)Experience with Certification of ConformanceKnowledge of GD&T and inspection methodologiesStrong attention to detail and ability to follow inspection plans and protocolsExperience with the use of precision measurement tools and equipmentAbility to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering drawingsAbility to work effectively within a quality management systemPreferred Qualifications:Certified or previously certified in GD&T ASME Y-14.5Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school; college degree in engineeringKnowledge of mechanical contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing5 years of experience in Manufacturing industry, with 2 years as a Mechanical InspectorExperience with AS 1301 requirement (Delegated Product Relief Release, DPRR)$28 - $32 an hourSQA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
