Apartment Maintenance Tech

*Job Summary* We are seeking a proactive and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting, making a tangible difference in residents’ daily lives. *Responsibilities* * Perform routine and emergency repairs on plumbing systems, electrical equipment, HVAC units, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation. * Conduct preventative maintenance on facilities equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical devices using schematics and technical manuals. * Utilize hand tools, electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters, and programmable logic controllers to diagnose issues accurately and efficiently. * Complete maintenance painting, carpentry, welding, and other building interior maintenance tasks to uphold community standards. * Inspect facilities regularly to identify potential issues; perform repairs or coordinate with specialists for complex problems. * Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repair logs, schematics updates, and inventory of tools and parts used. * Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to resident requests and communicating clearly about repair timelines and procedures. * Supervise or assist with the training of junior maintenance staff or apprentices when necessary. *Experience* * Proven experience in residential or facilities maintenance with a strong background in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC system repair, and building interior maintenance. * Hands-on knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics reading, electrical equipment repair, and plumbing system maintenance is essential. * Experience operating hand tools, electrical testing devices (including ohmmeters), welding equipment, and programmable logic controllers is highly desirable. * Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is preferred; ability to lead projects or teams effectively. * Familiarity with maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) practices within residential or commercial buildings. * Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently. * Ability to communicate fluently in English; clear documentation skills are important for record keeping and reporting.
