Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.About This RoleLaunched in September 2023, our location in Silver Spring, MD, is home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers is building our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.The Medical Intake Coordinator is responsible for the medical registration of new patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to communicate patient health information that requires treatment planning and/or further medical consultation.Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 5:00pmWhat You'll DoManages the medical registration process of patients entering the healthcare facilityProvides administrative support to the Nursing Department and Psychiatry DepartmentCollects and documents intake information such as medication and health historyCommunicates and collaborates with the nursing team regarding intake informationCollects and documents of vital signs, height, weightDrafting medical documentation and lab orders under the direction of the psychiatry providerTranscribing medical information to patient's charts & communicating pertinent information to the treatment teamMaintains confidentiality. Patient privacy, and data securityProvides supplementary assistance with infection control and prevention measuresMedication, medical supply, and equipment inventoryInitiating Prior Authorizations for medications and diagnostic testsParticipates in professional development activitiesAll other duties within the scope of training as assigned by the Site LeaderConsults WithPsychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Program Directors, Staff Therapists, Staff Nurses, and Administrative StaffWho You AreExceptional interpersonal and therapeutic communication skillsRobust organizational and time management skills, with noteworthy attention to detailTeam player with adaptiveness and agilityMedical Assistant (preferred)Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy (highly preferred)Current CPR certification (preferred not required)Working knowledge of pharmaceuticals (preferred not required)Experience in mental health care (preferred not required)Physical RequirementsOften required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms.Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch.The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 poundsCompensation$19 - $24 USDWe know job descriptions can be intimidating, so if this sounds like an opportunity for you, please don't hesitate to apply!Who We AreCompass Health Center is a recognized leader in crisis-level mental health, bringing passion, connection, and patient-centered care to the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient space (PHP/IOP).
