CNC Machinist
Job Title: Machinist - 1st ClassHours: 1st shift 6am-2:30amPay: 32-40 an hour (depending on experience and shift)Job ObjectiveThe Machinist - 1st Class is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of conventional and precision machine tools to fabricate parts, components, and tooling required for manufacturing equipment and ball mold cups. This role requires a high level of machining skill, precision, and adherence to specifications.Primary ResponsibilitiesFabrication (80%)Fabricate parts and tooling cups using machine tools such as Bridgeport mills, grinders, millers, lathes, saws, and drills.Perform precision machining to meet detailed specifications and tolerances.Measurement & Calculation (15%)Calculate dimensions and tolerances using applied mathematics.Use precision measuring instruments including scales, micrometers, vernier calipers, and depth micrometers.Equipment Care & Maintenance (5%)Perform daily cleaning and routine light maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation and longevity.Additional ResponsibilitiesSet up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools as well as specialized and advanced machining equipment.Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials to machines.Monitor machine feed rates and speeds throughout machining operations.Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related equipment.Inspect, measure, and test completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments.Maintain quality standards and workmanship in all machining activities.EducationVocational or technical school graduate in Machine Shop Machine Tool Technology , or an equivalent secondary school curriculum (required).ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of experience working in the machinist trade.Knowledge, Skills, and RequirementsBasic to advanced proficiency in blueprint reading.Strong applied mathematics skills for machining and tolerance calculations.Ability to determine appropriate tools and equipment required for specific machining tasks.Proficiency with hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments.Comfortable working with current and evolving machining technologies.Ability to use computers as required for job-related tasks.Special Credentials & SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to mentally visualize 3-D components prior to fabrication.Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team environment.Active listening skills and attention to detail.QualificationsMust Have the Ability To:Read, write, and speak English.Follow manufacturing and equipment specifications.Perform basic math calculations.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and tolerances.Use precision measuring devices and various hand and power tools.Operate machine tools including drills, lathes, millers, and grinders.Learn and apply quality standards for workmanship and product output.Licenses / Certifications (Required or Preferred as Applicable):Electrician LicenseMA 2nd Class Fireman LicenseMA Journeyman Electrician LicenseClass A or B CDLUniversal Refrigeration LicenseKnowledge of HVAC systemsKnowledge of hydraulic and/or electrical schematicsKnowledge of plumbing and pipingAbility to obtain forklift, pallet jack, and/or man-lift certificationAbility to pass a leadership assessmentManpowerGroup is committed to providing equal employment opportunities in a professional, high quality work environment.
