Embrace a change and come make an impact with the Athens Administrators family today!Position SummaryAthens Administrators has an immediate need for a full-time Staff Accountant to support our Concord office located on Stanwell Drive. Athens’ offices are open for business Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. local time. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday at 37.5 hours a week, fully on-site in Concord. This position will be responsible for our GL account reconciliations, corporate bank and credit card reconciliations, fixed assets, and all aspects of the corporate Accounts Payable function.Primary ResponsibilitiesOur new hire should have the skills, ability, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. Additional duties may be assigned:Corporate AccountingPrepare monthly GL account reconciliationsPrepare monthly corporate bank account reconciliations for all Athens corporate entitiesPrepare monthly corporate credit card (employee T&E) reconciliationEnter journal entries into accounting softwareAssist in the preparation of other schedules/documentation for external auditorsAccounts PayableCode and enter vendor invoices into accounting softwarePrepare checks for all accounts payable accounts (multiple entities) and secure signatures from authorized signersPrepare monthly payable accrualsAnswer vendor inquiriesResolve accounts payable-related errors and discrepanciesReconcile accounts payable subledger to general ledgerReview accounts payable aging report and research vendors that are agedAssist in 1099 preparationFixed AssetsUpdate and maintain Fixed Asset subledgersPrepare Fixed Asset roll forward quarterly and for year-end auditor’s reviewReconcile Fixed Asset GL data to Property Tax reports and prepare/pay property tax filingsPrepaid AssetsPrepare Prepaid Asset roll forward schedule on monthly basisPrepare monthly amortization journal entryOther DutiesAct as liaison with other departments to adjust or reconcile financial dataAssist Accounting team members as backup support in a variety of other accounting tasksProvide a range of administrative duties such as filing, data input (into SIMS or Great Plains)Assist in preparation of US Census SurveyPerform other duties as assignedEssential Position RequirementsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
