PARENT EDUCATOR JobID: 2479Position Type:Classified PositionsDate Posted:10/24/2025Location:All Sites(High-Needs School)Date Available:2025-2026 School YearTITLE: Parent EducatorPosition:To coordinate and monitor the involvement of parents in the education of their children; to serve as a liaison between parents and school personnel to facilitate increased student achievement.Qualifications:High school education or equivalentBilingual in English and Spanish preferredProficiency in basic computer software applicationsAbility to effectively communicate and maintain effective working relationships with parents, district personnel of all levels, and outside agenciesPossess an understanding of class and cultural backgrounds of community familiesHave experience in collaborative leadershipAdvocates for families and childrenAbility to organize, prioritize, take initiative and work independently with minimum supervisionAbility to maintain organized, comprehensive records for reporting purposesPossess group leadership skillsEssential Duties:Serve as a liaison between parents/guardians, school personnel and community agenciesCollaborate with school personnel to create a positive school climateBuild awareness of the Isaac School District resourcesBuild awareness of national, state and local organizations working in the area of parental involvement and share resources with school communityCompile and maintain information at the school site, with resources and activities affecting parental involvementServe as a member of the site council or leadership teamWork with the school leadership team in the writing of school goals aligned with the six standards for successful parent involvementWork with school and district leadership to develop a school/family involvement policyDevelop and implement effective family involvement strategies and activities to empower students and familiesReview data collected from parent surveys, etc, and report findings to the leadership and staff as requestedCollaborate with district and school leadership to compose a survey to identify family/parent needs and expectationsConduct a needs assessment of school population on parent needs and expectationsAttend meetings and trainings pertaining to parent involvement within district and out of districtProvide programs and activities to address needs of parents and school, based on the needs assessment resultsProvide training for staff and parents as requested and as neededCollaborate with school personnel and parents to establish strong community partnershipsSupervision:Supervision will be provided directly by the school principal as well as by an appointed district administrator
