We now specialize in sprinkler system testing, repair and installation, kitchen and restaurant systems, fire alarm design, installation and service, backflow prevention devices, full service alarm monitoring, fire pump repair and installation, and underground hydrant repairs and installation, among the many services we offer.Great company culture with room to grow.The Fire Extinguisher Technician is primarily responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and replacing portables and accompanying products (i.e., wall hangers and brackets, surface cabinets, etc.), and exit and emergency lights per NFPA 10 regulations. In addition, the Senior FX Technician will be responsible for training new hires. A desired candidate performs the full job despite site and weather conditions, can work independently with little supervision, has professional communication skills, and is consistently looking out for the customer’s best interest.ResponsibilitiesPerform annual inspections on fire extinguishers per NFPA 10Appropriately retag extinguishers after completing inspectionsPerform fire extinguisher repairs, maintenance, and upgrades including recharges and 6-year internal inspectionsPerform 12-year hydro testInstall and wall hangers, brackets, and mount surface cabinets for extinguishersProvide professional opinion regarding hanger and bracket use to mount fire extinguishersConsult and advise customers regarding potential safety issues or the need for additional fire extinguishersComplete and produce reports that are legible, accurate and detailed prior to leaving job site and ensure customer provides signatureInvoice paperwork in a timely mannerUpdate and complete Building Reports, for inventory purposes, while performing workKeep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, etc.Ensure proper stock of parts and equipment on company-issued vehicleHandle customer questions, concerns, and complaintsTrain, mentor, and coach other FX Technicians and new hiresStay current with code requirements and industry changesAttend and complete all required trainings, including safety trainingRequirementsPerform other related duties as assigned or requiredValid driver’s licenseHigh School Diploma/ GEDAble work to work flexible hoursAble to carry and move tools and equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.Able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders multiples times a dayAble to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.Able to travel to multiple job sites each dayHigh precision/ detail-orientedProfessional verbal and written communication skillsAble to work independently, with little supervisionKnowledge of fire systems and toolsWorks effectively and efficiently while performing all aspects of the required jobFEL-B LicensePreferred3+ years prior, relevant work experience1+ year training/ coaching experienceOSHA CertificationKnowledge of ProfitZoom, Building Reports, and PaylocityBilingual – specifically SpanishBenefitsMedicalDentalVisionPaid Time OffPaid Holidays401(k) matching
