Field Engineer (Construction) — Multi-Family
**Location:** St. Louis, MO
**Compensation:** $70,000–$75,000 Plus Construction Performance Bonus
**Reports to:** On-site Superintendent (with support to the Project Manager)

Position Summary
As a **Field Engineer**, you help drive the successful execution of **multi-family construction** projects by planning, organizing, and controlling key elements of the work. You’ll partner closely with the **on-site Superintendent** and Project Manager to keep schedules, documentation, submittals, and closeout activities moving forward—while maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive jobsite.
What You’ll Do (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)
Report to and take direction from the **on-site Superintendent**.
**Unload and receive materials** shipped to the site and verify deliveries.
Collect **model numbers** for installed materials and cross-reference with **prints/spec books**.
Manage **submittals**, including **F&E logs**, and ensure subcontractor adherence to approved submittals.
Assist the Project Manager with reviewing plans/specs to create **scopes of work** and execute contracts.
Maintain project document logs, including **RFIs**, **transmittals**, and other project documentation.
Support management of the **Owner and Architect**, including **OAC meetings** and meeting minutes.
Manage and support **project closeout**, including **O&Ms**, **warranties**, **lien releases**, **punch list items**, **extra products**, and **keys**.
Assist with project financial activities, including **contracts, projections, and billings**.
Prepare and distribute project descriptions and timelines; support status reporting.
Monitor **budgets, contractors, and schedules**; help allocate project resources appropriately.
Help maintain accurate records and an electronic database for all project elements.
Enforce procedures to maintain a **safe, clean, productive environment** and support compliance with state and federal regulations.
Assist with weekly **safety meetings** and schedule reviews with subcontractors.
Assist with inspection of subcontractor work and punch-out of finished units.
When needed, assist with installation of items such as **mailboxes, bike racks, signage**, etc. (when not subcontracted).
Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring (Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge)
Associate degree in **Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field**.
Knowledge of construction principles, practices, and methods; familiarity with environmental regulations and project management methods.
Understanding of workplace safety, budgeting, and coordination of subcontractors.
Proficiency in **Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook**.
Experience with **SureTrak** and **Procore Construction Management** preferred.
Ability to read and follow **plans and diagrams**.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to stay organized and flexible in a **fast-paced** multi-family construction environment.
Required Training/Certifications
OSHA 10-hour certification
First Aid/CPR certification
Heavy Equipment Operator** certification
