Veterinary Receptionist- Large Animal

Fenton River Veterinary Hospital is a fast-paced, progressive, expanding veterinary practice located in Stafford Springs, CT. Position Summary: The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is our client’s first contact when calling or visiting the hospital and as such, creates and reinforces the professional image of the hospital to all callers and visitors. This position requires experience with horses and farm animals, strong communication and customer service skills, the ability to multi-task, and the capacity to use tact and diplomacy in all situations. CSR’s must provide a high level of client care at all times. CSRs are expected to follow our protocols and procedures with great accuracy and enthusiasm, even during the busiest of times. Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to greet clients in a professional and friendly manner. Be able to engage with clients to determine their needs and assist them as needed. Be able to schedule farm calls, visits and procedures. Must also be able to utilize veterinary software for medical record keeping and invoicing. Professionally administer all telephone calls – answering client inquiries in a prompt and friendly manner, scheduling appointments, recording messages and processing requests for assistance from other departments. Collect client fees, post and record payments, make change, process credit card transactions and run check transactions. Learn about the full range of services we offer and be able to assist clients with scheduling requested services. Be able to direct clients to our online store as needed. Respond to all client emails and inquiries in a timely manner. Learn about the teams and capabilities of our sister hospitals and be able to refer clients to them if needed. Request and process routine laboratory reports. Perform a variety of clerical duties, mailings, organizing reception area, typing memos, correspondence, reports and other documents. Regular attendance and timeliness are an essential function in order to fulfill the requirements of this position. Ability to remain happy and engaging under pressure in a busy environment.
