This is a client-facing, high-impact role responsible for overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting for clients. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in financial services or a consulting environment and possesses the technical depth and leadership presence to manage a team—including offshore resources—while building trusted relationships with clients across our portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & GAAP CompliancePrepare, review, and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAPOversee general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and the month-end/year-end close processEnsure timely and accurate financial reporting for external clientsMaintain and strengthen internal controls frameworks and accounting policiesCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators as neededClient Relationship ManagementServe as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining trusted long-term relationshipsProactively identify and communicate financial risks, opportunities, and insights to client stakeholdersLead client meetings, deliver financial presentations, and respond to ad hoc analytical requestsCollaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and exceed client expectationsIdentify opportunities to expand service offerings that meet evolving client needsTeam Leadership & ManagementLead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals including onshore staff and offshore resourcesEstablish clear workflows, quality standards, and performance expectations across the teamManage workload allocation and ensure deadlines are consistently met across all client engagementsFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional developmentServe as an escalation point for complex technical accounting issues raised by team membersTechnology & Process ImprovementChampion the adoption of accounting technologies and automation to improve efficiency and accuracyEvaluate and implement best-practice processes for financial close, reporting, and reconciliationSupport data integrity across financial systems and integration with client platformsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership roleExperience in a financial services consulting firm or similar professional services environmentDeep working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience managing teams, including remote or offshore accounting resourcesProven ability to manage client relationships in a consulting or advisory contextStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsBroker-Dealer or RIA ExperiencePrior experience working within or serving a broker-dealer, Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), asset manager, or investment fundKnowledge of investment management fee structures, expense allocations, and RIA billing operationsExperience with portfolio accounting or fund administration systems (e.g., Advent, Orion, Black Diamond, Juniper)Additional Preferred SkillsCPA license (active) or equivalent professional designationPrior experience at a consulting firm with a financial services client baseProficiency with accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics or similarWhy Victory Solutions Group?A dynamic, entrepreneurial culture where your expertise directly shapes client outcomes and firm growthExposure to a diverse portfolio of clientsOpportunities for professional development, leadership growth, and advancementCollaborative team environment with experienced finance and accounting professionals
