Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A contract position is available for an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired to serve students in the Denver, CO area starting August 2026 through May 2027. This role supports visually impaired students within a local public school district, with assignment locations and caseloads to be determined based on district needs and staff preferences. Assignments may vary between full-time and part-time depending on the final district requirements.Key Responsibilities:Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across various grade levels.Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and specialists to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Adapt curriculum and materials to meet the unique needs of visually impaired students.Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.Maintain compliance with district and state regulations, including documentation and reporting.Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.Qualifications:Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.Background check and fingerprint clearance as required by the district.Experience working with visually impaired students is preferred; openings available for both novice and veteran teachers.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Commitment to supporting diverse learners within an inclusive educational environment.Location: Denver, Colorado (onsite position)This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the education of visually impaired students in a supportive school community.
