Azure Cloud Architect

Azure Cloud ArchitectWe're looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Architect who is comfortable wearing many hats. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing systems end-to-end, getting hands-on with implementation, and balancing architecture decisions with security, cost, and operational realities. You would be joining a small, start-up company where each person must wear multiple hats and be able to tackle new problems quickly and effectively.You'll be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable Azure environments—supporting everything from containerized applications to large ML/LLM workloads. You'll work closely with developers and leadership to ensure our cloud platform is reliable, compliant, and cost-effective.What You'll DoDesign and evolve cloud architectures on Microsoft Azure with a focus on scalability, security, and maintainabilityBuild, operate and optimize containerized workloads using Azure Container Apps (and related services)Deploy and support large ML models and LLM-based workloads with performance and cost considerationsDesign and manage Azure networking (VNets, subnets, private endpoints, routing, DNS, firewall rules)Implement and maintain cloud security controls using Azure Firewall, Azure Sentinel, and other Azure-native security toolingDefine and enforce security best practices to support SOC 2 compliance and audit readinessImplement infrastructure as code using TerraformBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub ActionsEstablish monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application InsightsServe as a trusted advisor and technical leader, helping teams make sound architectural decisionsWhat We're Looking ForWe're less focused on checking every box and more interested in someone who can reason through complex problems and adapt quickly.Required / Strong Experience In:Microsoft Azure architecture and core servicesContainers and container orchestration (especially Azure Container Apps)Azure networking and security fundamentalsInfrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)Monitoring, logging, and operational excellenceCost management and optimization in cloud environmentsDeploying and operating ML or LLM workloads in productionNice to Have / Bonus Experience:Azure Sentinel and SIEM/SOAR workflowsSupporting or passing SOC 2 audits (or similar compliance frameworks)Experience in regulated or security-conscious environmentsAbility to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersCI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)What Success Looks LikeCloud environments are secure, observable, and cost-efficientArchitecture decisions balance speed, reliability, and long-term maintainabilityTeams are empowered with clear patterns, tooling, and automationAudits and security reviews are predictable—not fire drills
