Operations Associate

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on leader to learn and grow within our Operations Department! Shin-Etsu MicroSi is an ISO certified subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemicals in Japan. Our focus is the sale of chemicals and technology for the semiconductor industry.While applicable experience is required, we are primarily seeking talented individuals with attention to detail, proven leadership skills, and interest in establishing a long-term career with the company. The successful candidate is expected to take on multiple and varied tasks in order to improve the team. All members of the Logistics Department are responsible for creating and fostering a positive, team-focused environment and supporting the company's mission, vision, and values.This is a hands-on, physical job. The Operations Associate will need to be comfortable completing repetitive tasks in a minimally supervised environment. They are also expected to manage the movement of materials throughout the facility with attention to safety standards, packaging and processing outgoing shipments, and helping to receive incoming deliveries.Candidates with leadership skills and a willingness to learn will do well in our culture.Important InformationThe production responsibilities of this role require the physical ability to:Safely wear a full-face NOISH certified cartridge respirator.Lift and carry items weighing up to 60lbs to a height of 5ft and over a distance of 10ft.Tolerate non-hazardous chemical odors on a nearly constant basis.Frequently work under augmented yellow light.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS (performed under moderate supervision) include, but are not limited to: Observe and follows safety procedures and work instructions set by the company and industry best practices, including staying up to date on relevant HAZMAT standards. Review production schedules, material specifications, assembly orders, and other product documents to understand requirements. Review and follow assembly instructions and work orders to identify, pick, and prepare materials, and communicate with internal departments regarding product availability. Package and label materials per work order instructions and in compliance with domestic and international regulations. Transport raw material from inventory warehouse to manufacturing area in accordance with proper HAZMAT handling. To fulfill these responsibilities, the Operations Associate is expected to communicate professionally with vendors, internal departments, and our parent company in Japan on a regular basis. They must be able to maintain a positive, self-starting attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction while working in a team-oriented environment. An attention to detail and a willingness to take on new tasks are essential.QualificationsEducation requirements: Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or related field is preferred.DOT Hazmat training, Six Sigma, ISO training, and 49 CFR also preferred.Experience Requirements8-10 years of warehouse logistics experienceSpecialty: shipping dangerous goods3 years in a lead or supervisor roleMicrosoft suite capabilitiesExcel: RequiredPowerPoint: RequiredSAP, Oracle, MAXIMO and/or ERP skillsUnderstanding of FIFO, LIFO, JIT, and WIP In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, IATA) for the transportation and storage of hazardous materials.Work EnvironmentEmployee is expected to work out of the main office in Phoenix, AZ. This role will require working directly with hazardous chemicals. Attention to detail and safety is critical.
