Apparel Designer

Our retail client is looking for a Menswear Apparel Designer for a hybrid freelance assignment in New York from 5/26 through 8/19.This role supports the design and development of seasonal men's apparel collections for Value and Wholesale channels.Key Responsibilities:• Support seasonal men's apparel collection development• Create sketches, flats, and technical packages in Adobe Illustrator• Build mood boards, concept decks, and trend presentations• Research trends, color direction, fabrics, and silhouette ideas• Maintain tech packs, BOMs, and PLM updates• Attend fit sessions and track revisions• Partner with Merchandising, Technical Design, and Production teams• Communicate with overseas vendors and factories• Support product development timelines and seasonal milestones• Assist with presentations, line reviews, and market preparationQualifications:• 1-3 years of apparel design or product development experience• Menswear experience preferred• Strong Illustrator sketching and technical flat skills• Experience creating tech packs and supporting product development• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; PLM experience preferred• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and fit• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
