The Maine Sleep Center at Chest Medicine AssociatesPolysomnographic Technologist (full-time or part-time)South Portland, MaineThe Maine Sleep Center at Chest Medicine Associates, an AASM-accredited facility, is currently hiring Polysomnographic Technologists (Per diem/days for MSLTs and part-time/nights for PSGs).Part-time Polysomnographic TechnologistWork 1-2 nights per weekPer diem Polysomnographic TechnologistPerform MSLTs on 2-3 Mondays per month, and/orWork 1-3 nights per monthRequirements of the Polysomnographic TechnologistFor Polysomnographic Technologists, certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) or the RRT-SDS credential is required.Minimum 1 year of experience performing PSGs and/or MSLTs. Scoring proficiency is desirable.Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required.BenefitsCompensation and benefits depend on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.Convenient location in South Portland, MaineFor eligible part-time positions, benefits may includeAccrued, paid time offPaid holidays401K retirement plan with 3% minimum company contributionProfit-sharing plan (additional, discretionary contribution to retirement plan)Health, dental, disability, life, and vision insurance (eligibility based on regular hours worked)Responsibilities of the Polysomnographic Technologist:Review the patient's history and verify the medical order.Verify patient identification, collect documents, and obtain consent for the study.Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs (physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history).Follow sleep center protocols or physician order.Explain the procedure and orient the patient for in-center testing.Provide age-appropriate patient education.Select appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing to determine proper functioning and adjust if necessary.Apply electrodes and sensors according to protocol or generally accepted standards.Perform diagnostic polysomnography.Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desensitization.Perform CPAP/Bi-level/ASV titration studies.Perform MSLT/MWT.Score studies in accordance with AASM standards.Properly clean and disinfect equipment.The Maine Sleep Center at Chest Medicine Associates has been serving patients in the greater Portland, Maine area and from throughout Maine and southern New Hampshire for over 35 years.NO PHONE CALLS OR RECRUITERS PLEASEEqual Opportunity Employer.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, familial status, age, physical or mental disability, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
