BESS Journeyman ElectricianLocation: Fort Morgan, COProject Type: Utility‐Scale / Commercial Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) ConstructionEmployment Type: Full‐Time / Year‐Long ProjectJob SummaryWe are seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician with experience in battery energy storage system (BESS) construction to support a long‐term utility‐scale project in Fort Morgan, Colorado. This role includes installing, assembling, testing, and maintaining electrical systems associated with large‐scale battery storage equipment. The Journeyman Electrician will work closely with foremen, project managers, and apprentices to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with NEC and local codes.Key ResponsibilitiesBESS electrical installation — Install, terminate, and test wiring and equipment for BESS systemsAC/DC system work — Work on battery racks, PCS/inverters, switchgear, transformers, and disconnectsBlueprint interpretation — Read and interpret electrical drawings, one‐lines, and schematicsConduit installation — Bend and install EMT, PVC, and Rigid conduitGrounding and bonding — Verify compliance with NEC and project standardsTroubleshooting — Diagnose and resolve issues during installation and commissioningBattery module support — Assist with module installation, cable routing, and system integrationApprentice supervision — Mentor and support apprenticesSafety compliance — Follow NEC, OSHA, and AHJ requirementsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsiteParticipate in daily safety meetings and follow all site protocolsRequired QualificationsActive Journeyman Electrician License (Colorado)3–5 years commercial or industrial electrical experiencePrevious BESS, solar, or renewable energy experience preferredStrong understanding of the NEC (current edition)Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specificationsExperience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipmentAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsPreferred QualificationsUtility‐scale BESS experienceExperience working on energized systemsOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationAbility to lead small crews or work independentlyWork Environment & ScheduleOutdoor construction siteFull‐time hours with consistent long‐term workloadOvertime opportunities depending on project phaseLocal candidates strongly encouragedCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly pay based on experienceWeekly payOvertime opportunitiesLong‐term employment on a major renewable energy storage projectJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Denver, CO.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $66.00 - $66.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
