This role involves collaborating with Tier 1 application partners, such as Jet Aero and Gate Reader, as well as other critical airport systems that support Above the Wing (ATW) and Below the Wing (BTW) operations across a global network. The work you do will have an immediate and visible impact, whether it involves supporting operations, partnering with engineering teams, or resolving real-time incidents.This full-time contractor position is based in Chicago, with work typically conducted on-site at the Chicago Common Use Lab near O'Hare Airport 2 to 3 days per week. Flexibility is required to adjust based on testing schedules, deployments, and operational needs. Responsibilities include coordinating software testing, testing new hardware integrations, working with Common Use vendors, and running operational scenarios through production deployment. The role may also involve domestic and international travel.Responsibilities:Support Common Use workstation applications and integrations across airport environments, including incident triage, troubleshooting, and resolution coordination.Work on-site at the Chicago Common Use Lab near O'Hare 2 to 3 days per week, adjusting as needed based on lab activity and operational priorities.Coordinate and execute lab-based testing for workstation software and hardware changes, document results, track defects, and validate fixes prior to production deployment.Partner with Common Use vendors to run operational scenarios, validate builds, and support certification activities tied to releases and upgrades.Support deployments and production readiness activities, including cutover planning, validation steps, post-deployment checks, and issue tracking.Analyze incident patterns and operational data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and reduce repeat issues.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high availability and minimize operational disruptions.Own assigned tasks or small projects end-to-end, including status reporting and presenting outcomes to leadership when needed.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree.Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including comfort working through ambiguous issues in real time.Ability to quickly triage production support situations and drive resolution across multiple teams.Comfort working in fast-paced operational environments where priorities can shift quickly.Strong interest in learning new systems, tools, and operational processes.Ability to travel up to 15% from Chicago.Preferred Qualifications:Airline industry knowledge or experience.Experience with Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) or Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS).Experience supporting high-availability, business-critical operational systems.Experience with application delivery and lifecycle management, including testing, release, and production support.Demonstrated ownership of workstreams or projects with consistent delivery of results.Experience managing applications across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.Working knowledge of network and connectivity concepts such as IP address, hostname, and DNS.Technical troubleshooting skills, including log review, configuration validation, and issue reproduction.About PTR Global: PTR Global is a leading provider of information technology and workforce solutions.
