Facility Manager – Data Center OperationsLocation: Ashburn, VASalary: $130,000–$180,000 Base salaryI'm currently partnering with a leading, privately held data center owner and operator that is continuing to expand across the U.S. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking to add an experienced Facility Manager to their operations leadership team.This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing organization operating mission-critical data center environments, where you'll play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, reliability, and customer satisfaction.The OpportunityThe Facility Manager will be responsible for the 24/7 operation of one or more mission-critical data center facilities, ensuring all critical infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards of reliability, safety, and efficiency.This individual will lead a team of Critical Facilities professionals while working closely with internal stakeholders and customers to deliver world-class operational performance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop a team of Critical Facility Technicians and support staff.Oversee the day-to-day operation of critical building infrastructure including electrical and mechanical systems.Ensure all preventative, corrective, and contracted maintenance activities are planned and executed effectively.Review and approve Change Requests, MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.Drive compliance with change management processes, operational procedures, and safety standards.Conduct regular facility inspections and ensure all systems remain fully operational.Manage emergency response activities and act as the primary escalation point during critical incidents.Monitor facility performance, maintenance activities, and operational metrics, providing regular reporting to senior leadership.Manage relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors while ensuring exceptional service delivery.Support customer fit-outs, capital projects, audits, sustainability initiatives, and operational improvements.Assist with OPEX and CAPEX planning, forecasting, and budget management.Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices.Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and overall facility performance.Leadership ResponsibilitiesDirect management of Lead Critical Facility Technicians, Critical Facility Technicians, and Facility Technicians.Hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and career development.Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.RequirementsMinimum of 5 years' experience managing mission-critical building systems and critical facilities equipment.Previous experience within a data center or other mission-critical environment.Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, cooling systems, HVAC, and power distribution.Experience managing preventive maintenance programs and critical infrastructure vendors.Working knowledge of Change Management, Incident Management, MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.Experience managing OPEX/CAPEX budgets and facility projects.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $130,000–$180,000Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchHealth Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term & Long-Term DisabilityPaid Time Off & Paid HolidaysThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Facility Manager or Critical Facilities leader looking to join a rapidly growing organization operating some of the industry's most advanced mission-critical facilities.
