The Dayton VAMC is seeking a Registered Nurse to Join our Mental Health Nursing Service Team.This nurse will be a part of the Mental Health Residential and Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP) promoting personal growth and development of MH nursing practice focusing on Substance Use Disorder care, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder treatment and care of the Domiciliary Homeless Veterans.Major duties include:Demonstrates leadership in collaborating with others to deliver nursing care according to the principles of the Veteran Centered Care Model.Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills.Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components.Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.Evaluates and treats a variety of acute and chronic medical, surgical, and psychological conditions.Accountable for clinical responsibilities, which may include the proper intake and exit of the veteran at clinic visit, meeting of educational and psychosocial assessment and needs, procedural assisting and appropriate triaging of telephone calls, walk-ins and unstable veterans.Performs other duties as assigned.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total RewardsPay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awardsPaid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryWork Schedule: 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM (0730 - 2000) with an 8-hour shift per pay period, including weekend and holiday rotations and to off tours as mandated.Telework: Not AvailableVirtual: This is not a virtual position.Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized.Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
