Quality Control Technician I
Job Summary We are looking for a Quality Technician who will perform various quality systems and testing activities for manufacturing operation, including raw material and process fluid testing, quality audits, plant trials, and quality lab maintenance and organization.
Essential Duties Practice and follow GAF's Culture Drivers (Put Our Customers First, Operate As One Team, Make Things Better Every Day, Take Full Ownership).
Understand and use correct safety procedures and PPE per location and task.
Be an active and engaged participant in shift handoff meetings each day.
Audit and engage with product startups as it relates to machine performance, in-process and finished product test results, and the Production Team.
Maintain internal process specification limits as it relates to targets.
Maintain 5S standards and audits for department owned area(s) each day.
Perform weekly and monthly safety audits.
Provide QC Lab support per production schedule.
Communicate QC results to the production floor and the shipping department in a timely manner and as needed.
Understand and practice all standardized testing and process specification documents.
Perform in-process and finished goods physical property tests.
Maintain calibration of measurement devices.
Review data to verify chemical properties are within specifications.
Communicate test results and countermeasures with the Production Team.
Audit lab and manufacturing processes.
Maintain the plant MSDS database.
Order routine lab supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated intermediate communication skills and proficiency with MS Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Programs.
Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2 years of manufacturing experience in a fast paced continuous process preferred.

Compensation Base hourly rate: $27.24. Salary and/or pay ranges are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
