IT Engineer
WSYX/WTTE Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Broadcast/IT Engineer. This position involves maintaining broadcast equipment, computers and servers related to television transmission and video automation systems, as well as business-side workstations. The candidate will be directly responsible for hands-on support of modern broadcast and IT equipment.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and repair cameras, video production switchers, audio equipment, video routers, automation/editing systems, video server systems, graphic systems, display systems, fiber networks, and satellite receivers.Provide support in the management of servers, network security, and network servicesPC hardware/software support of on-site installation, service, troubleshooting, and repairing of workstationsProvide support for the technical needs of the News DepartmentProvide first response support as needed to maintain live news broadcastsAssist with video equipment set-up and maintenanceAssist with LAN and WAN related hardware and software maintenanceApply regular security updatesPerform physical inventory of equipmentAssist in fleet managementAssist in media managementAssist in building maintenance and scheduling of maintenanceOther duties may be assignedOther Qualifications and RequirementsAssociate's degree preferred or higher in broadcast, IT, electronics or computer related field2 - 4 years of related broadcast experienceSelf-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision and as part of a groupBe able to work effectively with other departments receiving and communicating instructions via email, phone, or in personBe able to read and understand technical materialsExperience working with computers, servers, and network switchesHold a valid driver's license with clean driving recordProficiency in troubleshooting problems and responding quickly under pressureFamiliarity with Ross and Avid related software and hardware products a plusPhysical Demands/Work EnvironmentMust be able to work a flexible scheduleOn-call duty, including weekends and holidaysAbility to lift computers and equipment generally 50 poundsEEO AND INCLUSIVITYSinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
