A nursing opportunity is available within a stepdown PCU specializing in cardiology care, offering hands-on experience in an acute care setting. This role requires at least one year of acute cardiology experience and proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and post-procedural cardiac care. It is ideal for an RN ready to deepen their expertise with a patient population including acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, NSTEMI/STEMI, and post-cardiac interventions.LocationThis position is based in High Point, NC, close to a major academic medical center with advanced trauma and specialty services. The region offers a welcoming community with access to urban amenities, outdoor recreation, and cultural attractions.Key QualificationsActive RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certificationsMinimum 1 year experience in cardiac stepdown or telemetry nursingComfort with titrating cardiac-related IV drips such as Dobutamine, Milrinone, Nitro, and othersSkilled in cardiac rhythm monitoring and post-procedural care (e.g., post-cath, pacemaker insertion)Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:4-5 with CNA supportResponsibilitiesProvide nursing care to patients with complex cardiac diagnoses in a 28-bed cardiology PCUMonitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary teamCollaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivistsUtilize Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell medication systems, and Philips monitorsParticipate in unit-based teamwork to ensure high standards of patient safety and care qualityAdditional InformationSchedule: Contract assignment with flexibility to float within cardiology and med-surg units as neededOrientation: Department-specific orientation for 2 days after hospital-wide new employee orientationParking: Free and available onsiteUnit Culture: Supportive, family-oriented atmosphere with an emphasis on teamworkScrub Color: Royal blue
