We were awarded the Best Workplace Award as well as most recently Best of Delaware 2024 - Upstate Tutoring.  Consider joining our Team!   We are looking for expert educators who are looking to make a difference in others with their passion. Position Description:We are seeking a part-time, in-person High School Math Tutor to provide 1:1 or group tutoring instruction during day-time hours and/or evening hours.Location:  Various locations across New Castle CountyType: Part-time Schedule: Flexible; We are looking for a tutor who can support for less than 10 hours a week between 8AM - 3PM and/or 3:30PM - 7:30PM, depending on your availabilityTravel: Tutor may be traveling to different locations across New Castle County to provide tutoring (for example, in schools or libraries)Why join our team: Competitive hourly rate based on experience Flexible part-time hours Flexibility to build creative, engaging lessons and professional autonomy within a supportive environment Referral program incentives Supportive and engaging work environment What you’ll do: Provide 1:1 or small group tutoring for instruction in high school math in a school setting or library setting. Develop tailored lesson plans based on student needs and learning stylesUse creative, hands-on approaches to make the subject engaging and relevantMaintain accurate documentation of student's sessions and progressCommunicate with parents regularly and student's teacher as neededAdjust instruction techniques to accommodate students with learning differencesYour qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience with high school-aged students (excluding student teaching) in the topic of Math (like, Geometry, Algebra I & II, Statistics, etc.)Bachelor’s degree requiredStrong written and verbal communication skills Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches based on student engagement, need, and skill levelAbility to manage student(s) in group setting Ability to travel to different locations in New Castle County (like schools, libraries, etc.)By submitting my application, I certify that the information I have provided in this application is true and complete. I understand that any misrepresentation, falsification, or omission of facts may be grounds for disqualification from further consideration for employment or, if hired, for dismissal at any time.
