Position Summary This technician role supports the R&D team in both early-stage development and ongoing lab operations. The position requires hands-on experience with capital equipment systems, pumps, and electro-mechanical assemblies, supporting prototype builds, troubleshooting, and test execution. The role includes a balanced mix of engineering support and routine lab testing, with responsibility for executing standard test methods, maintaining equipment, and supporting product development activities. Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, assemble, and troubleshoot prototype systems and capital equipment, including pumps, fluid systems, and electro-mechanical assembliesSupport development activities utilizing platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LabVIEW, or similar toolsSet up and execute engineering and routine lab tests, including data collection and documentationPerform routine verification and characterization testing in support of product development and sustaining effortsAssist in development and refinement of test methods, fixtures, and data acquisition systemsTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fluidic system issues in both prototype and test environmentsMaintain, calibrate, and ensure readiness of lab equipment (e.g., multimeters, pressure/flow sensors, oscilloscopes)Document test results, observations, and technical findings in a clear and organized mannerSupport sustaining engineering activities, including product improvements and investigation workCollaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to support project execution and timelinesEnsure compliance with Client quality systems and all applicable safety and regulatory requirements QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field2+ years of hands-on experience in a technical lab, prototyping, or R&D environmentExperience working with capital equipment systems (e.g., pumps, motors, or automated systems) preferredFamiliarity with electronics and instrumentation (wiring, sensors, data acquisition systems)Experience with mechanical assembly, fluid systems, and troubleshootingExposure to LabVIEW, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms preferredAbility to execute both routine lab testing and development-focused experimentationStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyBasic computer skills (Excel, data entry, documentation) Desired AttributesHands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with hardware and lab equipmentStrong troubleshooting mindset across mechanical, electrical, and fluidic systemsAbility to balance structured, repeatable testing with more open-ended development workEffective communication and collaboration with engineers and technicians
