In this role, you'll oversee cost control, scheduling, reporting, and risk management functions while mentoring a team and partnering closely with project leadership.You'll play a key role in ensuring projects stay on track financially, operationally, and strategically while building a high-performing, collaborative project controls function.What You'll DoLead Project Controls Execution* Oversee cost control, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting across multiple projects* Ensure all project control functions align with contract requirements and internal standards* Review project performance to identify risks, issues, and opportunitiesDrive Cost & Financial Oversight* Lead preparation and review of cost reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance* Guide budget tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow evaluation* Support project teams in translating awarded bids into accurate, trackable budgetsOversee Scheduling & Planning* Review and validate project schedules, including baselines and updates* Ensure schedules are logically sound and aligned with execution strategies* Mentor team members on best practices in scheduling and planningLead & Develop the Team* Supervise and mentor project controls team members in day-to-day execution* Provide performance feedback, coaching, and career development support* Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvementEnhance Reporting & Stakeholder Communication* Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project status, including cost, schedule, and risk* Partner with project managers to support informed decision-making* Promote strong communication across teams and stakeholdersSupport Client & Business Outcomes* Build and maintain strong client relationships* Ensure high-quality service delivery and consistent execution standards* Contribute to change management processes and continuous improvement effortsWhat You Bring* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, Business, or related field* 7+ years of experience in project controls, including supervisory experience* Experience leading or mentoring project controls teams* Strong background in cost control, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting* Experience in utility, infrastructure, or industrial environments preferred* Proficiency with Primavera P6 and advanced Microsoft Excel* Solid understanding of project management and contract administration principles* Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAmpirical is an Equal Opportunity Employer, meaning we do not discriminate based on the following characteristics in our hiring and employment practices: Age, sex, color, race, creed, national origin, religion or religious attire, marital status, pregnancy (child birth or related medical conditions), citizenship status or amnesty, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, physical or mental disability, military or veteran status, genetic information, sickle-cell trait, status as a tobacco user or non-user, or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
