Burn Operator

Houston, Texas: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Burn Operator with experience using hand-held gas cutting torches to cut and prepare various sizes of pipe and pipe fittings in a safe and efficient manner. This position supports fabrication and material processing operations by ensuring materials are accurately cut to specifications while maintaining a safe work environment. Essential Duties: Operate hand-held gas cutting torches to cut pipe, fittings, and related materials. Remove ends from various sizes and types of pipe according to project requirements. Measure and mark materials for accurate cuts. Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality standards are met. Maintain cutting equipment and report any operational issues. Follow all safety procedures and company policies while performing cutting operations. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, and shop support activities as needed. Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules. Requirements/Skills: Previous experience as a Burn Operator, Torch Cutter, or similar role. Proficiency using hand-held gas cutting torches. Ability to read and interpret work instructions, measurements, and specifications. Knowledge of safe torch-cutting practices and equipment operation. Ability to identify different pipe sizes and fittings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as required. Must be able to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. Ability to safely use personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and steel-toe boots. Must have sufficient vision and dexterity to safely operate cutting equipment and handle materials.
