Learn more at www.dovel.com.Role DescriptionWe are a fast-moving litigation firm seeking a full-time, hands-on Systems Engineer to own the full technology and operations infrastructure of the firm. This is a high-impact, defining role for someone who sees a law firm the way an engineer sees a system: full of inefficiency waiting to be eliminated, data waiting to be connected, and workflows waiting to be automated.You will be responsible for transforming how the firm collects, integrates, and uses data — building real-time dashboards for leadership, eliminating redundant data entry across platforms, and ensuring that every software system works in concert. You will also own the technology stack for our Mass Tort practice, from intake automation to settlement processing.This role reports directly to firm leadership and has broad authority to evaluate, replace, and implement systems and vendors.QualificationsProven experience managing and integrating complex software ecosystems, ideally in a professional services environmentStrong command of workflow automation tools and cloud-based infrastructureExperience with legal tech platforms (FileVine, Lead Docket, LeanLaw, or comparable systems) preferredAbility to think in systems: you see data flows, failure points, and optimization opportunities others missComfortable owning vendor relationships and negotiating accountabilitySecurity-minded, with working knowledge of HIPAA compliance and cybersecurity best practicesStrong communicator who can translate technical decisions for non-technical leadershipBias toward action and continuous improvement — you don’t wait for perfect; you iterateWhy This RoleThis is not a maintenance job.
