Fleet Maintenance ManagerVelociti LLCRiverside, MO (Onsite)About the RoleVelociti LLC is seeking a highly organized and compliance-driven Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of our company fleet and ensure adherence to all U.S. DOT and FMCSA regulations.This role is critical to maintaining fleet safety, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance across the organization. While this is not a mechanic position, a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, safety standards, and fleet operations is essential.You'll also play a key role in onboarding and training employees on safe vehicle use, compliance expectations, and accountability standards.What You'll DoFleet Administration & ComplianceManage vehicle registration, titling, licensing, and insurance documentationMaintain accurate fleet records (mileage, maintenance, inspections, assignments)Ensure documentation is audit-ready and accessibleManage telematics systems and fleet data integrity DOT & FMCSA ComplianceOversee FMCSA registrations, including freight broker permits and UCR renewalsDevelop and maintain compliance programs, policies, and driver handbooksAct as the internal subject matter expert on FMCSRsPartner with legal counsel and third-party vendors to stay current on regulations Driver Qualification & RecordsMaintain Driver Qualification Files (DQFs) for all CMV driversCoordinate background checks and motor vehicle record reviewsEnsure all driver documentation meets FMCSA standards Hours of Service & ELD OversightEnsure compliance with HOS regulationsManage ELD systems and required data retentionEvaluate eligibility for exemptions and maintain documentation Maintenance & Vendor CoordinationCreate and manage preventive maintenance schedulesCoordinate repairs with vendors and track costsMonitor vehicle downtime and rental usageEnsure all vehicles meet safety and performance standards Vehicle Safety & InspectionsEnforce pre- and post-trip inspection proceduresMaintain DVIRs and annual inspection recordsEnsure timely repair of identified issues Fleet Readiness & EquipmentPrepare vehicles for deployment (cleanliness, equipment, functionality)Maintain inventory of fleet tools and suppliesEnsure consistency across all vehicles Training & OnboardingLead fleet-related onboarding sessions for new hiresTrain employees on safety, telematics, and compliance requirementsSupport HR with up-to-date fleet policies and materials Fleet Operations & OptimizationManage vehicle assignments and returnsMaintain fleet rotation to minimize downtimeProvide reporting on fleet performance, compliance, and costsPartner with operations and safety teams to improve efficiency and reduce risk What Success Looks LikeAccurate and audit-ready compliance documentationOn-time renewals and regulatory filingsHigh HOS and ELD compliance ratesReduced vehicle downtime through proactive maintenanceStrong fleet readiness for onboardingDecreased safety incidents and violationsEfficient cost management and reporting What You BringRequired4+ years of experience in fleet management, DOT compliance, or transportation operationsStrong knowledge of FMCSA regulations (driver qualification, HOS, inspections)Excellent organizational and documentation skillsExperience coordinating vendors and managing schedulesStrong communication and training abilitiesFamiliarity with fleet systems, telematics, and office softwareValid driver's license with insurable recordAbility to manage multiple priorities independently PreferredExperience with ELD systems and HOS trackingKnowledge of telematics platforms and fleet analyticsExperience with tools such as J.J. Keller, Samsara, or Geotab Work EnvironmentOnsite role based in Riverside, MO with occasional flexibility to work from homeMix of office work and hands-on vehicle inspectionsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs and work outdoors as neededStandard Monday-Friday schedule with occasional after-hours support
