Prepare records and reports as required in support of services rendered in accordancewith established procedures. Attend and participate in patient care reports, patient care conferences,team conferences, professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities only tothe extent that such attendance and participation is relative to his/her assigned cases and/orperformance of services as determined by the supervisor.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES• Provides comprehensive medical services and examines patients, using medical instrumentsand equipment.• Elicits and records information about patient's medical history.• Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information onpatient's condition.• Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.• Administers or prescribes treatments and medications.• Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention ofdisease.• Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases.• Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being.• Review quality reports, assess care gaps and adjust protocol to improve patient's health.PHYSICAL DEMANDSLifting, twisting, bending and prolonged sitting or standing may be required. The physical movementsand the degree of mobility normally associated with the practice of primary care may be required.Work under stressful conditions as well as extended hours may be required.WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential occasional exposure to low dose radiation hazards, hazardous chemicals and body fluids andwaste. Personal protective equipment provided. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSGraduate of an accredited school of nursingGraduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner ProgramCurrent unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) LicensureCurrent Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty areaCurrent provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS)Federal DEA RegistrationCurrent CPR certificationExcellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills required.Medicaid provider number obtainable.Requires a comprehensive knowledge of primary care in outpatient settings.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of two years clinical experience in a primary care setting.Knowledge of the principles and practice of modern medical as related to public health organizationsand community health programs as well as current social and economic problems pertaining to publichealth and their impact on primary health care.
