POSITION SUMMARY:Develops and coordinates activities at Export area to select freight for scheduled flight according to company priorities and operational requirements, and to process all the necessary documentation by performing the following duties personally or through other employees.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned from time to time.Verifies the routing of the flight he/she will be working on.Reviews the pallet inventory to ensure accuracy.Coordinates with the Warehouse Supervisor preparation of cargo to obtain optimum utilization of plane capacity, ensuring cargo is built by priority, splits are minimized, weight of pallets meet requirements, any space requirement for oversize freight is met.Reconciles pallet inventory to make sure the priority is being complied and all palletized cargo is scanned.Advises the Traffic Agent to print the manifest to begin the preparation of documents.Ensures the accurate weight of every single pallet is entered in the system, correcting when necessary.Prints the pallets and weights report (AW 2518). Documents designated pallets that could be bumped and send to Load Control area.Closes the flight as soon as the information is recorded from Load Control area.Ensures all the necessary documentation is processed and completed at least two hours prior to flight departure.Advises interested people of on hold shipments, split shipments, and mixed pallets to ensure follow-upInforms the Export Manager about all the details in relation with the flight preparation and closingPhysical Activities and Requirements of the Position:Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.Ability to read information in small, medium and large print.Effective verbal and written communication skillsBe able to effectively work in a team environmentAble to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge.Willingness to work 8-hr shift covering 24/7.Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedAble to add, subtract, multiply and divided in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsOccasionally work in a hot/humid indoor environment.Acknowledgment:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed in this position.
