Software Engineer Level 2 Location US-MD-Fort Meade ID 2026-8407 Category Information Technology Position Type Full-Time Remote No Clearance Level TS/SCI FS Poly DescriptionMarkon is seeking an experienced Software Engineer 2 to support Enterprise Data Enablement initiatives within the Data Transformation Solutions (DTS) organization for the Fort Meade customer. This role provides full-stack Java software development in support of enterprise data architecture and transformation efforts. The position will develop and prototype innovative capabilities that advance the customer's Data Architecture Strategy, leveraging modern technologies to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions for the ingest, processing, transformation, and transport of mission-critical data. ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain full-stack Java applications supporting enterprise data enablement initiativesDevelop and prototype new capabilities that support the customer's Data Architecture StrategyBuild scalable solutions for data ingest, processing, transformation, and transport workflowsCollaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements and implement technical solutionsDevelop and maintain RESTful APIs, web services, and backend processing componentsSupport modernization efforts utilizing emerging technologies and enterprise data frameworksParticipate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and deploymentTroubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and integration challengesDevelop and maintain technical documentation and software artifactsSupport system integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities QualificationsRequired QualificationsActive TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of software engineering experienceExperience developing full-stack Java applications in enterprise environmentsExperience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and web servicesExperience supporting data processing, data transformation, or data integration solutionsExperience working in Agile development environmentsStrong understanding of software design principles, system architecture, and enterprise application developmentExperience with source code management tools such as GitStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment Desired Qualifications Experience supporting enterprise data architecture or data transformation initiativesExperience with cloud technologies and modern software development frameworksExperience developing scalable solutions for high-volume data processing environmentsFamiliarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deploymentsExperience supporting Intelligence Community mission systems and data platforms Salary Range USD $190,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.
