At Progress Rail, the team is not just building the future of rail—they are making history every day.Key Job ElementsDuties and responsibilities Responsible for managing Quality engineers, supervisors, and specialists; Manage QMS across multiple facilities ensuring quality of operations continual improvement; Monitor QMS metrics and communicate with key stakeholders regarding quality; Contribute and assist in the development of Quality Control plan based on prevention; Assist team members in resolving issues and provide recommendations for solutions; Communicate with customers, suppliers, regulatory and management team members in support of continualimprovement. Work with team to implement preventive / corrective actions and improve process and overall product quality; Work with team members to plan and complete product launches on schedule;Advanced duties and responsibilities Understanding of M-1003, ISO 9001 and other industry standards and practices as required; Participate in industry / regulatory committee roles; Understand AAR policies and standards.Essential And Physical Activities Functions Strength – Position requires lifting of 50lbs. Requires stamina and strength to work in tight and confinedspaces while installing or repair machinery and components; Motion – Position requires standing and/or walking the majority of the day. Frequent walking, squatting,kneeling, and climbing of steps and stairs; Vision/Hearing Requirements –Exposed to high levels of noise and vibration from using tools. Position isexposed to cutting torches and welding operations. The use of proper PPE is required. The Position requiresthe ability to read DQWI and schematics and understand instructions; Work Environment – Position can be located inside or outside, dependent on situation. When inside,the employees are subject to temperature extremes in non-temperature-controlled environments.When outside employees are subject to all weather elements. Employees will work with oils and otherlubricants; Emotional Demands – Expected to work and cooperate as part of team to meet quality and productionrequirements; Safety – Position is safety sensitive, as it requires working in and around live tracks and operation andrepair of heavy equipment. Position requires strict adherence to safety policies (i.e. blue flag) and use ofall PPE.Education / Training Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.Qualifications And Experience 5+ years’ experience managing a QMS preferred; Experience in auditing and inspection processes preferred; Experience with manufacturing and production processes and principles; Experience problem solving in a manufacturing environment; Experience and strong skill sets working with continuous Improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques; Excellent communication skills; Experience working with internal and external customers; Proficient in Microsoft office applications; NDT experience and/or certification a plus Statistical analysis and quality assurance skills.BenefitsCompensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
