About the RoleThe Walt Disney Company is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead the front-end and back-end Moveworks solution engineering team within HR Products. The team develops and supports platforms that power Employee Services for more than 200,000 Disney employees.This role combines hands-on technical leadership, AI expertise, engineering management, platform support, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will manage 4–6 Solution and Software Engineers, along with offshore and nearshore managed-service resources responsible for platform support.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop a team of Solution and Software Engineers.Provide coaching, career development, and growth plans for team members.Manage offshore and nearshore managed-service teams and ensure accountability for platform support.Drive architecture, design, development, testing, and implementation within Moveworks.Oversee Tier 2 production support for Moveworks HR solutions.Ensure platform availability, data quality, compliance, and technical integrity.Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Architects, and business stakeholders to prioritize enhancements.Translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable software solutions.Lead code reviews, testing, and enterprise-grade deployments.Establish engineering standards and promote Agile practices such as Scrum and Kanban.Serve as an escalation point for complex technical and architectural issues.Communicate technical progress, risks, and delivery status to leadership and stakeholders.Help define the long-term Moveworks engineering strategy while balancing modernization and platform stability.Required Qualifications7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong technical expertise.Moveworks Certified Agent Studio Developer certification.2+ years of engineering team leadership experience.2+ years of experience delivering complex AI implementations.2+ years managing or coordinating offshore and nearshore managed-service teams.Proven experience working in a Moveworks production environment.Expertise in integrated AI solutions.Experience developing and optimizing REST/SOAP API integrations with systems such as ServiceNow, SAP, and Workday.Strong experience delivering complex cross-functional initiatives.Ability to communicate technical concepts and risks effectively to non-technical stakeholders.Preferred QualificationsExperience with ServiceNow or comparable enterprise HR service-delivery platforms.Agile certification such as CSM, SAFe, or equivalent.ITIL v3 or later certification or practical ITSM experience.EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.CompensationThe hiring range for this position is:Orlando, FL: $163,400–$219,100 per yearBurbank, CA: $171,600–$230,100 per yearSeattle, WA: $179,700–$241,000 per yearActual compensation may vary based on geographic location, internal equity, knowledge, skills, and experience.
