Position: Logistics SpecialistArea of Focus: Energy & MiningLocation: The Woodlands, TexasFlexibility: We do require a minimum presence of 2 days per week in the office.Status: Full-time Permanent (1)The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for developing customer-focused solutions in support of Quadra's Energy and Mining business. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, ensuring efficient and seamless bulk logistics by strengthening regional supply networks and driving continuous improvement with carriers and 3PLs. The Logistics Specialist also provides subject-matter expertise while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient service for customers.Do you have knowledge of a transportation management system, various report analysis and excellent problem-solving skills? Then read on, because this may be the right position for you!What would be your main responsibilities as Logistics Specialist?Bulk Third-Party Logistics LeadershipCoordinate day-to-day bulk liquid and dry chemical logistics operations, including handling, storage, transloading, and railcar workflowsIdentify and resolve operational risks and inefficiencies to improve safety, reliability, and cost performanceConduct site assessments with customers and partners to ensure operational readiness, capability, and compliance with safety standardsRegional Network & Supplier DevelopmentLeverage an established network within the South-Central and Western U.S. bulk trucking and rail transloading markets to enhance service quality and capacityEvaluate, recommend, and onboard new carriers and transload partners; support commercial negotiations through data-driven insightsAct as the primary logistics contact for regional partners, maintaining strong communication on performance, safety, and expectationsUtilize KPIs and performance data to drive continuous improvement in service levels, delivery reliability, safety, and cost efficiencyOperational Development & Systems ExpertiseAct as a key user of ERP and logistics systems (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, OTM), ensuring accuracy in orders, documentation, and inventory visibilityPartner with commercial teams by providing logistics expertise to support customer solutions and strengthen value propositionsPrepare inventory reports, cost analyses, business cases, and customer-facing presentationsAnalyze logistics data to identify trends, operational bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvementSafety, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementChampion a strong safety culture across all logistics operations and external partnersEnsure compliance with Responsible Distribution, TDG, and all applicable regulatory and safety requirementsLead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actionsSupport and mentor team members and partners on safe handling practices, SOPs, and compliance standardsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and overall customer satisfactionThe ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field; professional designations such as CCLP or P.Log are considered strong assets7-10+ years of experience in bulk chemical logistics, including trucking, rail, and transloading operationsEstablished network within the South-Central U.S. bulk logistics market is an asset (and required for Senior Specialist level consideration)Strong proficiency with ERP and logistics systems (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, OTM)Demonstrated ability to exercise sound operational judgment and independently resolve complex logistics challengesExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsSolid understanding of hazardous materials handling and TDG regulatory requirementsWho are we?Founded over 49 years ago, Quadra is dedicated to its 550+ employees located in Canada and the United States.
