Site Safety Coordinator (OSHA 500)
Job Overview
US Trades is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support long-term electrical and mechanical projects within Construction environments. This role requires strong field presence, effective communication with a diverse workforce, and the ability to promote and enforce job site safety standards actively. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish, with experience working on large construction projects where safety compliance is critical.
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day jobsite safety operations on electrical and mechanical projects
Conduct safety orientations, daily safety meetings, and toolbox talks in both English and Spanish
Perform routine jobsite safety inspections and hazard assessments
Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking
Verify compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety plans, and client requirements
Serve as a point of contact for safety-related questions from craft personnel and supervision
Monitor PPE usage and enforce safety policies consistently
Document safety observations, audits, and corrective actions
Work closely with project supervision to address unsafe conditions proactively
Long-term project assignments
Average 50 hours per week
Additional overtime may be required based on project needs
Required Qualifications
Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
Minimum 6 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator on construction projects OR CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
OSHA 500 Certification
CPR and First Aid Certification
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices
Experience working in electrical and/or mechanical scopes
Preferred Qualifications
Additional safety credentials or certifications (e.g., OSHA 500, HAZWOPER, etc.)
Strong documentation and reporting skills
Fluent in Microsoft Office
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work in active construction environments
Comfortable walking job sites, climbing stairs/ladders, and standing for extended periods
Ability to work in varied weather and environmental conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
