We’re entering our next phase of growth, expanding into new products, channels, and retail partnerships. As the business evolves, we’re investing in stronger financial visibility, discipline, and infrastructure to support smarter decision-making across the company.THE ROLEWe’re hiring a hands-on Financial Controller to help build the next layer of financial clarity and operational rigor at BK Beauty. This is not a traditional back-office accounting role. You’ll own core controllership responsibilities while working closely with the founder/operator and cross-functional leaders to improve channel profitability, reporting, compliance, and financial decision-making.You’ll operate as our internal finance lead, helping bring better visibility and discipline to how we grow across channels, promotions, and operations.This role is ideal for someone who wants to step out of a corporate environment and take full ownership of finance within a fast-growing, founder-led brand.WHAT YOU'LL OWNChannel Profitability & Promotion InsightsBuild and improve contribution margin reporting across all channels: .COM, TikTok Shop, Amazon, Ulta, and NordstromAnalyze the financial impact of promotions and discounting across each channelImprove the accuracy and reliability of profitability reporting beyond directional toolsSupport marketing and operations teams with financial insights tied to promotion strategy and channel-specific cost structuresIdentify margin leakage and opportunities to improve efficiencyAccounting Oversight & Monthly CloseOwn the monthly close process and timeline with external bookkeepersDeliver accurate, decision-ready financials by the 10th business dayReview P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow for accuracy and clarityInvestigate and resolve balance sheet issues, including sales tax liabilities and reconciliationsImprove chart of accounts and financial structure as neededFinancial Reporting & Decision SupportBuild and maintain a monthly reporting package used by leadershipTranslate financial data into clear, actionable insightsSupport budgeting and financial planning alongside the founderHelp teams understand the financial impact of promotions, hiring, and spend decisionsCompliance, Insurance & Risk ManagementOwn company-wide compliance calendar and ensure all filings are completed on timeManage insurance policies, renewals, COIs, and broker relationshipsOversee sales tax compliance and manage the relationship with ZampReview and validate third-party work to ensure accuracyCoordinate with CPA to ensure timely and organized tax filingsInventory, COGS & Cost VisibilityImprove tracking of fully loaded COGS, including freight, duties, and packagingSupport inventory valuation accuracy and reportingPartner with operations to improve cost visibility and efficiencyIdentify opportunities to reduce costs and improve marginsCross-Functional Financial PartnershipAct as a financial sounding board for marketing, operations, and leadershipProvide visibility into financial tradeoffs and decision impactParticipate in weekly business sync meetingsHelp bring financial discipline into day-to-day decision-making without creating unnecessary processSystems & Process ImprovementImprove financial reporting workflows and reduce manual processesBuild and maintain clean, scalable financial systemsLeverage AI and modern tools to improve reporting, analysis, and efficiencyWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKEWithin your first 6–12 months, you will:Deliver monthly financials consistently by the 10th business dayBuild clear, trusted contribution margin reporting across all channelsImprove the accuracy and usefulness of financial data used in decision-makingRemove the majority of compliance, insurance, and financial admin burden from the founderBring greater financial visibility and discipline across the businessWhat We’re Looking For:7–12+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or controllershipStrong accounting foundation with hands-on experience owning close and reportingExperience in consumer products, eCommerce, or inventory-based businessesStrong understanding of contribution margin, channel economics, and operational financeAdvanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skillsComfortable working with QuickBooks and integrating data from multiple systemsHigh comfort using AI tools to improve workflows, reporting, and analysisExperience managing external partners (bookkeepers, CPA, tax, insurance)Ability to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholdersWe’re looking for someone who is excited to operate hands-on, build systems, and grow into the role over time.Preferred (but not required):CPA and/or Big Four backgroundExperience with multi-channel retail (DTC, Amazon, marketplaces, wholesale)Experience in a founder-led or high-growth companyHOW YOU WORKYou’re hands-on and willing to get into the detailsYou’re practical, not overly corporate or process-heavyYou bring structure and discipline without slowing things downYou think like an operator, not just an accountantYou’re comfortable working directly with a founder and small teamYou’re curious, resourceful, and constantly looking for better ways to do thingsYou thrive in an individual contributor role with high ownership and visibilityYou’re excited to work closely with the founder/operator and serve as the internal lead for finance and accountingWHY THIS ROLE?This is a high-impact role at a critical stage of growth.
